Who Am I?

My name is Kelly. I am 26 and happily married for two years with 5 furry children! My husband and I currently live in Greeley, Colorado. I am a people person, yet I also need quiet time for reflection and processing. Music is my primary way of relating to the world because it touches my soul in a way that nothing else can. I also have a big heart for all God's creation (except most bugs, but only when they are in my general vicinity) and love the big and the small of it all.

The best part about me, though, is the people who love me. I have a loving husband who is willing to do the hard work of “real relationship” with me. I have loyal friends who encourage me on my journey. I am also blessed to have family who love me enough to have begun the process of repairing relationships that were long ago broken. Most of all though, I have a God who loves me more than anyone ever could.

He has many names and is quite complicated, really. Some call Him Yaweh ("He Brings Into Existence Whatever Exists"), and some call Him Immanuel ("God With Us"). I often call Him “the lover of my soul.” He is a gentle whisper (I Kings 19:12) and the only one who really sees me (Gensis 16:13) because he can see past all the dumb things I do. He loves me enough to be with me where I am, yet he loves me too much to leave me here. I owe Him everything because His death made it possible for me to be blameless despite how much I screw up. He has shown me true love and is my hope for something better than what this world could ever offer me. In the mean time, I wait for Him to make me move and pray for the wisdom to know when that is. I will also wait for Him to call me home.

My husband Thomas is a great man that I have to utmost respect for. There is no one with too low a status in this world that he would not jump out of the car to help if he can see there is a need he can help meet. He recently began going to Florida Christian College and plans to be a youth minister as soon as possible, or at the very least an intern. Currently, he is involved at Journey Christian Church in their youth program Fusion and loves every minute of it. He has had wonderful opportunities to work with the ministers at our church in a unconventional way. Each of them has invested parts of themselves in him and play a large role in who he is at this very moment.
